The most mouth watering recipe I have made yet. Something that is easy to make for a family or for 2.
- 2 Beef cheeks (for four people)
- 500mls ‘The Stock Merchant’ Jus (found in Nature’s fresh for less, Kellyville shops. Next to Coles)
- 220mls Bone Broth
- olive oil or coconut oil
- 2 carrots
- 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- 1 leek
- 1/2 diced onion
- 2 fresh garlic cloves diced
- 1/2tsp cinnamon
- 2 bay leaves
In an oven proof fry pan (I used a casserole dish) heat your chosen oil and place your beef cheeks in to brown on both sides for roughly 3mins each side.
Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees.
Once the cheeks are nicely browned, take them out and let them sit on a plate while you brown off the vegetables and the garlic. Sauté the veggies until the leek & onions are nicely browned.
Add the liquids as well as the spices, allow the mixture to come to a gently simmer and then add the beef cheeks back into the pan. Cook for a further 10-15mins.
Place the lid on the casserole dish and add to the oven for 4.5hrs. Once they are ready to eat pull out the bay leaves and rosemary.
To really soak up all the mouth watering juices of this dish serve it on a bed of garlic mash potatoes.
Enjoy! I know you will.
