BENEFITS OF SMALL GROUP TRAINING
You more than likely know of the benefits of having a personal trainer in a 1 on 1 setting. But what about in a small group environment? Would you believe me if I said that you can also receive the same awesome benefits in a semi-private setting, as you would in a 1 on 1 setting?
Motivation, guidance, education and accountability, are all what can and SHOULD be offered not only in a 1 on 1 training session, but also a SEMI-PRIVATE environment, like that of which we run here at Real Fitness.
Absolutely anyone with a health and fitness goal can benefit from semi-private training. So I thought I’d run through my top 5 reasons to get involved in small group training.
Having an appointment regularly locked in is one way to be held accountable to turning up. Also, in a small group, your coach can still keep you accountable to any nutrition or health related goals each week.
Both your coach and your fellow participants are there to support and assist you throughout your workout. This support group can be just what you need to power through your workout, push yourself a little bit harder and reach your health and fitness goals.
When you’re working out, having a consistent, well structured plan in place is a must to see results. Combining semi-private training sessions into your weekly routine will give you structured foundation from which to build strength, lose weight or tone your body.
Emphasis on Form
Within an extremely large fitness class type setting, (think Les Mills) exercise form can, and is, often neglected. An instructor has no chance of correcting every single person in the class while still performing their duty in a motivating manner. With semi-private training, the smaller numbers allows your coach to easily keep tabs on your form and make adjustments should any be required. This ensures the muscles meant to be used are being used, and also helps eliminate potential injuries.
Thats right, FUN!! Exercising in a semi-private environment can be not only motivating and tough and all that stuff, but it can also be extremely fun! There is often a sense that exercise can be a chore. But not in a semi-private setting. The camaraderie amongst you and your fellow participants creates such a vibe that you just don’t get training alone or even in a 1 on 1 training session. And research shows that less something feels like a chore, the more likely you are to stick with it!
So if you’re considering training and think you are unable to muster up the motivation to get going on your own, and being in a 1 on 1 setting doesn’t appeal to you, then I highly recommend you consider semi-private training. It could be just what you’re looking for!
